Whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
Mark 11:24
Like many people, you may be in the habit of not asking for what you truly desire simply because you tell yourself that you are undeserving of those things. Perhaps, you convince yourself that the things you desire are reserved for other people more intelligent, more connected, more hardworking, more attractive, more lucky, more ambitious and so on. As a result, you ask for the things you believe you deserve rather than those things that you truly desire; and when you don’t think you deserve much, you won’t get much.
“We don’t get what we deserve. We get what we BELIEVE we deserve.”
Don Cooper
However, Jesus addresses this mountain of self-doubt head on.
“Have faith in God. Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him.”
Mark 11:22-3
Essentially, Jesus encourages us to ask for things, not based on whether we think we are deserving or not, but based on what we believe God can do.
Which brings us to the message of this post. Once you ask for what you desire, you should accept as true that you have been given whatever you ask for. Your thoughts, words and actions should align as though you are in possession of what you asked. For example, let’s imagine you ask for a new house. Once you have asked, you are to accept as true that you have been given a new house. You are now to start imagining decorating your new house, imagine who you have over visiting you in your new house, talk as though you are living in your new house, do all you can that demonstrates you have a new house. You are to do this without fail until your new house is externalized. If you adhere to this principle, anything you desire will be yours without fail.
