Know the truth

“If you continue to accept and obey my teaching, you are really my followers. You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”

John 8:31-32

In a world in turmoil, where were we are now constantly hearing of wars and rumours of war. A world where true love is dying only to be replaced with phrases, symbolisms and tokens of love. A world where everybody is watching and listening, but not many are seeing and hearing. A world where principles that make good are being overtaken by those that feel good.

However, despite the seemingly downturn of ideas and ideologies, you should not be moved or shaken, for the immutable truth of the Bible is a strong anchor for you should you wish to accept and live by them.

Admittedly, we are living at a time when the sheer amount of noise is deafening and the amount of visuals blinding, and unfortunately, most bible teachers are not doing enough to distill the simple truths and principles the bible provides for everyday living. People are being bogged down with theology and loosing faith because of sensationalism.

“If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the best of the land”

Isaiah 1:19

Bible principles are simple and effective for the discerning, and all that is required is a willingness to attempt and the obedience to comply. The way to living a successful, prosperous, joyous and fulfilled life is not a secret, the principles are laid bare in the Bible. However, obedience to these principles require an adjustment in character, and this is not a work you are able to handle on your own. Asking God in humility and earnest prayer enlists divine help and provides an assurance that you have a co-pilot as you navigate your journey to newness of life and growth.

Therefore, knowing the truth requires diligently reading and assimilating the teachings of the Bible. Then as you exercise the virtue of faith, meditation and prayer, God will grant you understanding as pertaining to each area of your life. Do not harden your heart should obedience to these principles not feel good; rest assured that they are for your good, to bring you good and to make you a lighthouse of that which is good.
